VARANASI: The advocate commissioner in Shringar Gauri worship case, Ajay Kumar Mishra, has expressed fear for his safety.
During arguments in the court of civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar on Thursday, Mishra said that an atmosphere of fear has been created in an ordinary civil case.
“My family and I are living under fear,” he said.
One of the respondents in this case, Anjuman Intezamiya Masjid (AIM), had questioned the working of the advocate commissioner, accusing him of working under the pressure of plaintiffs. The AIM also requested the court to change the advocate commissioner.
“My family is always concerned about my safety and vice-versa. My mother in Lucknow expressed concern about my safety and asked me not to go to the spot, as it might endanger my life,” Mishra said in the court.
Rejecting the request of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid (AIM) for changing the advocate commissioner, the court of the civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar ordered that Ajay Kumar Mishra will continue as advocate commissioner.
Anyone who tries to stall the survey should be dealt with sternly, the court said.
