NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings opener Shikhar Dhawan achieved a big milestone on Monday as he became the second player to complete 6000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Dhawan, who needed just 2 runs to get to the landmark, joined Virat Kohli in the elite list, who was the only player to have attained the feat.

Dhawan, who also played his 200th match in IPL, reached the 6000-run mark with a single off Maheesh Theekshana on the first ball of the second over of the Punjab innings.

In the 7 innings, prior to this match, in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league, Dhawan has 214 runs to his name that included one fifty, which he hit against Mumbai Indians.
Dhawan, who was bought by PBKS during the mega auction for Rs 8.25 crore, has scored two centuries and 45 fifties so far in his IPL career.

The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Kohli is sitting right at the top on the most runs list with 6,402 runs to his name followed by Dhawan (6000*), Rohit Sharma (5,725), David Warner (5,668) and Suresh Raina (5,528).
