WhatsApp Reactions starts arriving on Android, here's how to use it

Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has recently started receiving in-chat Messages Reactions for individual and group chats. The feature is similar to what we have seen with Facebook, Messenger and Instagram where users can simply provide a reaction using pre-defined emojis. So, if you are looking to try the new Message Reactions on WhatsApp, here are the steps you need to follow:

Do note, that the feature is currently rolling out in a phased manner and WhatsApp has already confirmed that the full rollout will take approximately a week. So, in case the feature isn’t available for you, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Also, currently, WhatsApp only allows users to respond with — Thumbs up, Red heart, Laugh with tears and Steps to respond using reactions on WhatsApp1.

Install the latest version of WhatsApp and open it

Navigate to any chat windows or group chat

3.

Now, long-press (tap and hold for a couple of seconds) on any message (works for both sent and received messages)

4.

You’ll see a new popup with a couple of reaction emojis.

5.

Tap on the emoji you want to react with.
